Group of all types of people walking arm in arm
Dedicated Community Bank Online Banking works with cutting edge technology partners to ensure that the most secure environment is made possible for our customers. We offer you worry free Internet banking. You can be completely confident that Dedicated Community Bank is taking the following security measures:
Our system ensures that data exchanged between your PC and our computers is encrypted with 128-bit encryption, which means that there are a septillion (or 3.4 with 38 zeros) possible “keys” that could fit into the “lock” that holds your account information, but only one that will work for your specific Online banking session. Encryption is accomplished through Secure Sockets Layers (SSL), which utilize mathematical formulas to “encrypt” or hide information from prying eyes on the Internet.
Our computer system does not connect directly to the Internet. It is isolated from the network via a “firewall.” A firewall is a combination of software and hardware products that designate parameters, control and limit the access that outside computers have to the banks internal network and databases. You can feel secure knowing that our firewall protects your personal information from unauthorized access.
User ID’s and passwords are isolated from the Internet by being stored on Dedicated Community Bank’s secure Server. This way the passwords and IDs can never be accessed or downloaded by anyone on the Internet. This includes employees of Dedicated Community Bank. Additionally, user passwords can vary from eight to thirty-two characters (alpha & numeric required), which means the chance of randomly guessing a password is very unlikely. The system also checks for invalid logins and automatically disallows a user after three invalid attempts. This prohibits the “hacker” from gaining access to our system thus protecting your accounts.
You will be responsible for maintaining one of the most important security measures – your password. When you establish your Online Banking Password, be sure to keep it a secret. Memorize it, or write it down and keep it in a safe place, but do not share it with anyone. We do not recommend that you carry your password in a purse or wallet. We recommend that you maintain current virus protection on your computer and that you regularly scan your computer for viruses that could be used to capture password keystrokes. You ultimately hold the key to your password security. Bank employees do not know your password and will never ask for it.
Passwords are like an electronic signature. You should never share your password with anyone. Employees of Dedicated Community Bank will never call you or anyone from an Internet Service Provider indicating they need your password. Do not believe anyone who does so! THESE ORGANIZATIONS DON’T KNOW OR NEED YOUR PASSWORD AND THEIR EMPLOYEES ARE TOLD TO NEVER ASK FOR IT.
We recommend that you exercise great caution when you choose your password. Never use anything that is printed on your checks or readily accessible to others. Your checks are seen by a number of people.
